The Rhythms of Inspiration, Day 5

The Rhythms of Inspiration, Day 5

Sorry about the long lapse between this and the last, I tend to get lost in life and forget stuff. I guess that’s why I titled my blog A Simple Lapse of Mind. You should probably expect more lapses from me. Anyways, on to the good stuff.

Queen of a Sad Land by A Silent Film

A Silent Film are from Oxford, England and originally formed in 2000 as a band called Shouting Myke. In 2005, two members left but another joined and they renamed themselves A Silent Film, as a nod toward the many Charlie Chaplin’s silent films, which, one of, was the inspiration for one of their songs(at least, the melody was). In 2007 they released their first EP, The Projectionist and then in 2008 released their first album The City That Sleeps. This song comes from their second album, Sand and Snow which was released in 2012.

When I listen to this song, it helps bring me into a state of mind for writing. I don’t exactly know why. I feel inspired and ready to type away until my hands feel arthritic and sore. The lyrics are pure poetry and the execution of the song overall is perfectly done, at least, in my opinion. If you disagree, well, keep it to your damn self.

Just a thought…

More often than not, the bad guy doesn’t realize that he is just that, the bad guy. Sure, in crappy, b-rated action flicks they do but for the most part, people don’t realize they are the bad guy. Sometimes I wonder, and this just might bring me the wrath of some, if I live in a country that is the bad guy, touting around likes it’s the good guy. Or maybe we’re all the bad guy and there are no good guys…

This Time in Motion

As this beer courses through my veins, I wonder, who am I? Where do I stand in this world and why am I here? Is it the alcohol that has me thinking this way or some underlying thought thats been stuck deep inside my mind? Probably both. Does it matter either way? No.

It’s a completely valid question. Who am I? Why am I here? Of course I have theories but none of them quite add up. Whats your opinion? Why are we here, truly? It can’t be to worship some God and beg forgiveness the whole time, that mess makes no sense. Let me know your opinion.
